The Emblem Exclusive is our first ever fuzz offering at Retroactive equipped with the enamel Retroactive moth logo, silver substrate and all black doming. This pedal includes two Jordan Bosstones in parallel, with soft-touch relay select switching that allows to switch from one to the other similarly to how an amp’s channel select would be used.
The left (blue led) side has a different bass response as well as germanium diodes after the transistor, and the right (green led) side has different bass caps as well as silicon diodes after the transistor.
Two totally different flavors are on tap at the click of a switch. Since germanium is naturally quieter than silicon, this pedal is really great for boosting the silicon green side to shred a lead and cut through the mix, or go back to a quieter and more subdued germanium blue side for rhythm. The possibilities, applications, and tones are endless and can be applied to a wide variety of genres and styles!
Equipped with four controls:
Vol (Blue) - Master Volume for Germanium side post gain
Attack (Blue) - Sets guitar input level pre gain for Germanium side
Vol (Green) - Master Volume for Silicon side post gain
Attack (Green) – Sets guitar input level pre gain for Silicon side
Suggested Pairings:
The Emblem Exclusive works really well with compression in front for David Gilmour style leads, and pairs well with all gain pedals before or after it for extra character. The options are endless, have fun and explore! This pedal also pairs amazingly with drum machines or used as “outboard“ gear in your DAW to give digital drums a crunchy edge. Lastly, throw a reverb before it and bask in total sonic mayhem for all of your post-rock or shoegaze riffs.

From The Builder:Â
My name is Trey, I currently live in and operate out of New Orleans, LA.
I do a bit of professional touring as a Lighting Designer, and Backline Tech, but during covid I made a pivot and took coding courses in data analytics, hoping to one day transfer those skills into dsp audio/instrument design which i am currently pursuing.
I primarily play drums, but I love guitar as well, and gear in general, which lead me to building pedals. You can find some of my American Primitive Ambient inspired finger-style songs on streaming platforms under FJ Bourgeois.
I've been exploring with pedals for a while now, building out of necessity for my own board like many others have. I love experimenting with parts to get something as unique as possible. I design everything myself from conception to the final product, as well as breadboarding, testing, assembling, and packaging everything by hand.
I put tons of hours into this because I love it, and I love being a part of the community. I strive to build as good of a product as I can with a uniqueness that is my own and speaks of my experiences.
