NOS Silicon Dirty Boost with Frequency Selection

Jumping right out of your favorite Sci-Fi or Apocalyptic thriller, The Scavenger will certainly turn heads. This effect features a one-of-a-kind burned finish that was achieved with something similar to the traditional Raku pottery firing method. After being scorched in a bonfire, each enclosure is thrust into carbon-based organic material to leave permanent discolorations and beautiful patterns on the aluminum. What’s more, each pedal features a hand-selected vintage tube that has been pulled from vintage amplifiers from the 1960s.

Now hold your horses, partner - that tube is only cosmetic. However, it DOES glow with a beautiful orange light, and every Scavenger includes a note telling you a little bit about the donor amp and the story of the vintage tube. You’re letting music history take on new life and shine (quite literally) on your pedal board! Every Scavenger is a bit unique, and no two are the same!

Speaking of vintage, the Scavenger is heavily based on the boost made famous by one of the greatest rockers in history. This effect features one of our favorite transistors - a loud, in-your-face choice that brings the grit and plenty of attitude, plus added reliability and stability from heat and temperature fluctuations. There’s plenty of headroom on tap, and the Scavenger runs the gamut from gentle decibel boost for a solo to raucous, in-your-face dirty tube amp pushing. Keep the boost low and use the pedal as a buffer, stack it with other dirt pedals for some fat overdrive, brighten your humbuckers or low-wattage tube amp, or slam the front end of your favorite tube amp and see what it can do!

The single knob on the Scavenger controls the level of boost, and the toggle switch allows you to select between full-range, mid-focused, and a treble-focused top boost. The top boost sounds much like the classic VOX top boost circuit, and the full-range selection can double as an overdrive with our naughty and gritty transistor lurking under the hood!

In the world of guitar effects, boosts are often lumped into the “utility” category.
