Like the Masked Lapwing - aka Spur-winged Plover - that inspired it, this all-analogue, op-amp driven, diode clipping overdrive / distortion stompbox has multiple personalities.

From the calm, ambling low gain richness of a docile plodding Plover looking for food, to the rabid, gnarly, swooping hooligan that takes down aeroplanes while defending its nest, the Ploverdrive can leap one way or the other - and quickly!

The heart of the pedal is the Spur control, named after the venomous yellow spur found on the Plover's wing. This control is designed to complement your pickup selector on your guitar and dial in the perfect amount of body or detail you require.

Cranked counter-clockwise, the Spur is at full extension, ready to blind anything foolish enough to take it face on! Jagged, shrill, hyper-detailed, use this full attack setting when using neck ups to add structure and grit to rhythm tone and chord playing without compromising on body and warmth. Crank it all the way and then gradually roll it back in a clockwise direction until you find your sweet spot.

In contrast, cranked clockwise, the Spur is fully retracted, soft, warm and dampening like the thick downy plumage of a newborn Plover chick.
Use this side of the control on your bridge pickup to provide body, warmth, and thickness your tone without taming the natural clarity and attack of this pickup. Crank it all the way then gradually roll it counter-clockwise until you find your sweet spot.
The Spur control also interacts with the Gain control providing you with supreme tonal control across the Gain spectrum.
