🔥 One-Off Alert!
Jason at QuirkFX only makes one of each pedal — ever. This is the ONLY Weight Of The World in existence, and once it’s gone, it’s gone for good.
Weight of the World - Vintage voiced reverb.
Four knobs and one switch keep it simple while remaining very versatile.
Mix: This controls how much wet signal is blended in with the dry. This also makes it work great with BASS (where many reverbs get muddy)
Length (Toggle): Broad stroke control for decay time. To the left will cover all your basics. Throw it to the right to open a LOT of possibilities.
Decay: Controls the length of the reverb decay.
Tone: This is an input bandwidth control for the reverberated signal. All the way clockwise reduces all low end content to make a brighter reverb, turning counterclockwise allows more low end to pass through resulting in a fuller reverberated tone.
Ring: This is a harmonic regeneration control, it feeds the upper frequencies of the reverb trails back through to create a more harmonic (ringing) reverb. (The is the special little somethingsomething that sets this reverb apart. Based on the Levitation by Earthquaker).
For the design, I’ve always had a thing for Greek myths, and Atlas holding up the world has always intrigued me. I didn’t realize how much there was to his story until I started researching this design, and it’s worth reading. That’s also when I stumbled across the image by John Singer Sargent, who has a bunch of Greek myth inspired paintings. So, heroic Atlas, punished by Zeus to hold “The Weight of the World” until it’s end…. Should suggest the force of gravity, the deepest places of the earth, the shaking and reverberation of the strongest muscles pushed to their limits…. Yeah. That’s a reverb.

From The Builder:
A middle school teacher with a workshop in my basement, spraying things in the garage when weather allows. My daughter taught me to solder in 2019 (after being in robotics club in high school....NERD!), and I've been building pedals ever since. The circuits are based on existing pedals (I'm always up front about which), but it's the finishing that's quirky, with unique (occasionally odd) designs. Minor imperfections are par for the course and part of the charm.
Each design is one-of-a-kind, which means NO ONE ELSE will ever have this pedal but you. Hope you enjoy!
