🔥 One-Off Alert!
Jason at QuirkFX only makes one of each pedal — ever. This is the ONLY UNPHAZED in existence, and once it’s gone, it’s gone for good.
A modern take on the classic phaser.
4 stage OTA-based phaser with lots of fun features. It can go from stationary and resonant to slow and mellow and on through fast and swirly.
That lovely swirly, filtery effect used by a wide array of artists for the last 60+ years, the phaser pedal is still a bedrock of modern music. From rock legends like Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Robin Trower, Genesis, Rush, David Bowie, Van Halen, Wilco, and Radiohead, (to name just a few); jazz greats like Bill Evans; funk legends Parliament, Rufus, and Bootsy Collins; and up through more recent acts such as John Mayer and Gary Clark Jr.; the noble phaser has its fingerprints everywhere.
Based on the Grand Orbiter, from Earthquaker Devices.
Controls
Use a standard 9V power supply, Center negative.
Sweep: Controls the frequency peak of the phased signal’s tone, turned full clockwise the sweep is lively and intense, whereas turning counter clockwise yields a darker, more laid back peak.
Range (switch): Changes the range of the speed control. Left is slow mode, Right is fast. In the middle cuts out the LFO (so no oscillation), so this mode serves as a fixed resonant filter.
Rate: Controls the speed of the LFO. Faster clockwise, slower counterclockwise.
Depth: Controls the amount of phase effect mixed with dry signal. Clockwise for more intense phasing, counterclockwise for less. In “Vibrato” mode, this acts as a volume control
Phase/Vibrato (switch) Cuts the dry signal to create a vibe/vibrato effect depending on the setting of the other controls. In vibrato mode, more vibrato is created by turning the Resonance down low, and volume is controlled with the Depth knob.
Resonance: Controls the regeneration of the phased signal. More resonant clockwise, more subtle counterclockwise. (and again, is a key control while in Vibrato mode).
A guitar phaser pedal shifts the phase of your input signal and mixes it back in with your dry signal. A low-frequency oscillator (LFO) modulates the amount of phase shift relative to the dry signal, which creates that classic filter-swoosh sound for which phasers are known and loved. Modulating the amount of phase shift acts as a sort of “moving” filter. Adding more stages (this pedal has four) makes the effect more pronounced.
The design for this one evolved from a statue of a little girl, facing down the huge, bronze Bull of Wall Street. It’s called “Fearless”, and
I loved the image and the message of it (especially as the father of two daughters). That design didn’t work out, but it put me on
the path that eventually turned into Unphazed. This is a little different than the classic Phase 90 (better, imho). And you may just
need something unique to boldly explore your sound.

From The Builder:
A middle school teacher with a workshop in my basement, spraying things in the garage when weather allows. My daughter taught me to solder in 2019 (after being in robotics club in high school....NERD!), and I've been building pedals ever since. The circuits are based on existing pedals (I'm always up front about which), but it's the finishing that's quirky, with unique (occasionally odd) designs. Minor imperfections are par for the course and part of the charm.
Each design is one-of-a-kind, which means NO ONE ELSE will ever have this pedal but you. Hope you enjoy!
